How to Create a Clipping Path in Photoshop

What is Adobe Photoshop?

A layer in Photoshop is used like glass stacked upon each other to create the final project. It is widely used for image compositions, image editing, background removal, retouching, mockups etc.

With the help of Photoshop, we can manipulate our images and add different filters, shadow, and attractive design. It is widely popular among graphic designers and photographers because of its mind boggling results.

What is Clipping Path?

A clipping path is a closed vector path, or shape, used to cut out a 2D image in image editing software like Adobe Photoshop & Adobe Illustrator.

How to Create a Clipping Path in Photoshop?

By using the Pen Tool in Photoshop, you can cut the object in a desired shape after applying the clipping path. Then you can manipulate the background as per your taste.

Launch Photoshop & Upload your Image

Select Pen Tool from Main Toolbar

Start Drawing the Exact Shape of your Image

Go to Layer Panel & Save Path

Save as Photoshop PSD from File Menu

Click Twice on Add Layer Mask from Layer Panel
